This is just a super quick post I wanted to do because I have been thinking all week about my blog and what I am going to share — and I do not want it to seem as if I have abandoned and forgotten about it; quite the opposite!
I am feeing guilty and disappointed with myself. Taking the time to sit down and write on my site has been so enjoyable for me during a time when I did not much enjoy the rest of my day to day life, and now, I am having trouble finding the time to write at all.
I just started this new job, one week down! This is the most overwhelmed I have been in a super long time, but that’s the way it goes. I am so grateful for this job and excited to be trained, but it entirely focuses on home loans and the mortgage business and I have absolutely zero experience/knowledge about it…therefore, it has taken all of the brain power I have to understand it. It’s amazing how much I have learned in just 5 days!
So, I am trying to figure out how to balance an 8-5, Mon-Fri job which includes quite a commute… with writing time — not to mention staying on a great eating plan. Where there’s a will there’s a way, and I know thousands of other people do the same thing.
Anyway, I just wanted to share a few photos and updates! Up until starting this job, I was working out daily and in full blown ketosis. This past week things haven’t been as on track, from my new (awesome) boss buying us lunch and company pot-lucks to coming home and basically crashing in bed right away…needless to say, I have had a bit of a cheat week.
Also, I am a little worried about going from a job where I am on my feet all day, to a job where I am sitting 95% of the day. Praying I don’t gain!!
Weight & BP Updates
I started almost at 180 pounds (eek!) which I have never gone above despite losing and gaining weight over the years, and in just a week my weight dropped almost 10 pounds as you can see in the middle photo above. That was surely mostly water, but it was still exciting to see such progress. The following week I did continue to lose, and to my surprise it was about 2 pounds (kind of a lot when I dropped 10 the week before!) But that is how keto/low carb lifestyles are at first…the weight melts off in the beginning.
And then there is probably the most exciting update…my blood pressure!
I have been taking my medication, working out, and eating better…one or all of those things are paying off, because I went from 146/98 to…
Woohoo! Normal! I no longer fall in the hypertension category; I’ve never been this excited to visit my doctor to show her my progress. My highest systolic number I’ve seen was 153. One day I hope to be off the medication completely!
I’m sure I will find a way to incorporate my writing time with my work time (I can’t do both at the same time -lol- unless I utilize my lunch break!) and get back to posting and tracking my progress! How do you guys do it?!
